Role of the Emergency Ultrasound Special Interest Group:

The Emergency Ultrasound Special Interest Group advises the Clinical Practice Committee on matters relating to the development, practice, teaching and education of point-of-care emergency ultrasound. The Group liaises with other international bodies with regards to common practice areas and promoting unification.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Promoting the best evidence-based practice for all
  • Establishing international recognition of point-of-care emergency ultrasound competency
  • Promoting access to quality education for all
  • Advancing research in point-of-care emergency ultrasound
  • Support for local development and practice regardless of location
  • Development of an international consensus curriculum for emergency ultrasound
