Speakers

Katren Tyler, MD is a board-certified emergency physician and Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at UC Davis in Sacramento, California. Originally from Australia, she completed emergency medicine training in both Australia and the United States and also holds board certification in Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr. Tyler’s professional interests include emergency airway management, clinician well-being, and geriatric emergency care. She leads the UC Davis Level 1 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation program and is the founding director of the Geriatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship. As Vice Chair for Geriatric Emergency Medicine and Wellness and Medical Director for Physician Wellness at UC Davis Health, she advances initiatives in clinician well-being, peer support, and workplace wellness. Nationally, she serves on the Board of Governors for ACEP’s Geriatric ED Accreditation program and teaches with the Difficult Airway Course.
Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband, two teenagers, and their dogs. A late-onset runner, she aims to finish every race in the vertical position.
Dr. Sarah Perelman is an Instructor in Clinical Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and practices emergency medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital. She completed her Geriatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Perelman is passionte about improving the care of older adults, and her academic interests include research and implementation science on the impact of emergency department boarding and crowding on older adults and age friendly hospital initiatives. She also serves as an on-call physician for the Vulnerable Elder Protection Team and is member of the emergency medicine residency education committee. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, and trying new food with her family and friends.
