Who should attend?

Consultants and specialists in emergency medicine with an interest in simulation-based education. This series is designed for clinicians who are establishing simulation programs or enhancing existing simulation practices, with a focus on developing effective facilitation and debriefing skills to improve team performance and patient outcomes.

  • Describe key principles and frameworks of effective debriefing in healthcare simulation.

  • Apply structured debriefing models such as PEARLS and advocacy-inquiry.

  • Facilitate psychologically safe debriefing environments that promote reflective learning.

  • Adapt debriefing strategies across different simulation modalities including low-resource and virtual settings.

Moderators

Jabeen Fayyaz - Canada

Dr. Jabeen Fayyaz, MD, FCPS, MCPS, DCH, CHSE, MHPE, PhD (Simulation) is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto. She leads the SimKIDS Simulation and Teaching Scholars programs and co-directs the Pediatric Emergency Medicine International Clinical Fellowship. Her work focuses on simulation-based education, faculty development and patient safety, advancing global capacity building.

 

Asit Misra - USA

Dr. Asit Misra, MD, MSMEd, CHSE, FSSH is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Assistant Director of the Gordon Center’s Prehospital & Emergency Training Division. Board‑certified in emergency medicine, his work advances simulation‑based education, disaster medicine, resuscitation and faculty development.

Speakers

Immad Qureshi - United Kingdom

Dr. Immad Qureshi is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Isle of Wight NHS Trust and a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM).

He is IFEM CPD Lead and IFEM Academy Advisory Panel member.  He leads education and international engagement initiatives, focusing on emergency medicine training, governance and professional development, advancing quality improvement and global collaboration.

Outside work, he values mentorship and lifelong learning in addition to being an international table tennis umpire.

 

Tejasvi Chikatla - India

Dr. Tejasvi Chikatla, MBBS, Dip EM, MRCEM is a Senior Consultant and Head of the Emergency Department at Yashoda Hospitals, Hitech City, Hyderabad. Board‑certified in Emergency Medicine, he leads emergency care education and training, with expertise in simulation, trauma, resuscitation and global emergency medicine workforce development.
