Consultants, specialists, and clinicians in Emergency Medicine with an interest in learning how to diagnose and manage delirium.

Moderator

Shan Liu
Shan Liu, MD, SD is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School and is a board-certified in Emergency Medicine. She co-lead the Geriatric Emergency Department Guidelines 2.0 project and focus on geriatric ED falls and ED boarding.  Her work advances clinical best practices in geriatric emergency medicine as well as patient safety. She is the author of Masked Hero, a children's book about how her great-grandfather invented the first respirator mask. 
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, lifelong learning, mentoring, and fostering community. She has been taking voice lessons to make family car rides and karaoke parties more enjoyable.

Speakers

Alejandro Moya

Emergency Medicine Specialist and Co‑Director of WINFOCUS Costa Rica, with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Point‑of‑Care Ultrasound (Valencia, Spain). Attending Physician at Hospital Dr. Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia in San José, Costa Rica.

Adjunct Professor with the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the University of Costa Rica and Coordinator of Emergency Medicine at Universidad Internacional de las Américas. Past President of the Asociación Costarricense de Médicos Emergenciólogos and an active Member of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine.

 

Ana Garcia

Internal Medicine Specialist and PhD graduate from the University of Barcelona. She serves as an Emergency Physician at Clínic de Barcelona and collaborates in research groups focused on improving emergency care for older adults. She is also an active member of the GEM‑SEMES working group.

Fernanda Bellolio

Dr. Fernanda Bellolio is a Professor of Emergency Medicine with joint appointments in the Division of Health Care Policy and Research, and the Department of Medicine, Division of Community Internal Medicine, Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine at Mayo Clinic. 
She is the Research Chair in the Department of Emergency Medicine, the Director for Clinical Applications for the Robert & Arlene Kogod Center on Aging, and the Vice-Chair for the Specialty Council for Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic.
