The Spanish Society of Emergency and Emergency Medicine (SEMES), founded in 1987, included in its founding purposes all those aspects that affect such an important and necessary part of Medicine.

Likewise, it became sensitive to the reality and needs of the patients; For this reason, in addition to the Emergency doctors, the Emergency nursing groups and the Health Emergencies technicians were included. As for the group of Emergency doctors, it is the second in number of professionals within the medical community in Spain.

In addition, SEMES is an independent, non-profit entity.
