Ankur Verma
SEMI
Chair, Trauma Special Interest Group
Trained in emergency medicine from the George Washington University, Dr. Ankur is currently a Principal Consultant and Faculty of Emergency Medicine at the Max Super Specialty Hospital in New Delhi. He has a keen interest in Trauma, Airways, Academic EM, Resuscitation, and POCUS. His interest in trauma developed during his residency days when he presented his thesis on trauma coagulopathy. Dr. Ankur conceived and coined the term #SATisfied airway and hopes to spread more awareness regarding the same. He has published many papers in national and international journals. He has delivered many talks at national and international conferences. Dr Ankur is also President, Society for Emergency Medicine, India – Delhi Chapter. He initiated the #EACH1SAVE1TM campaign where SEMI-Delhi members teach bystander CPR in the community. Dr Verma is also a member of the ACEP International Ambassador Regional Committee Leadership Team.
He is also the Creator-Founder of THE DESI EM PROJECTTM – India’s First and only Emergency Medicine Podcast heard in more than 60 countries. He is a self-taught “nutritionist” and is trying to create awareness regarding the species specific diet, lifestyle and root causes of chronic non communicable diseases. In his free time (if he gets any), Ankur loves to play and workout with his son, read, socialize and get tattooed!
