Bruce Lo
ACEP, AAEM
Chair, Behavioral Emergencies Special Interest Group
Dr Bruce Lo is the chief of emergency medicine at Sentara Norfolk General hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. He is also a Professor and serves as an assistant program director for the emergency medicine residency program at Eastern Virginia Medical School and a partner at Emergency Physicians of Tidewater (EPT). He has given a number of lectures at national/international conferences. He has served and led a number of committees standardizing the approach for caring the acute psychiatric patient within both his health system as well as within the state.
Dr Lo serves on a number of committees including the board of AAEM, the chair of ACEP Academic Affairs Committee, and ACEP’s Clinical Policy Committee. He is also the recipient of several awards including the ACEP National Teaching Award, ACEP Diversity and Inclusion Award, CORD Distinguished Educator Award for Teaching and Evaluation, and winner of the AAEM open-mic award.
