Independent Director Recruitment

The International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM) is seeking three exceptional individuals to join its Board of Directors as Independent Directors. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to improving emergency care systems worldwide while working alongside an international community of emergency medicine leaders.

Why This Matters

IFEM's Assembly is looking to strengthen governance, enhance strategic oversight, and bring diverse perspectives and specialised expertise to advance IFEM's global mission. As IFEM navigates a pivotal time of change and growth, these new board members will help shape how IFEM delivers on a revised governance model, scales its impact, and better serves emergency medicine's future.

What We're Looking For

IFEM is particularly interested in candidates who can bring:

  • Broader experience beyond emergency medicine
  • Commercial perspectives to inform strategic decision-making
  • Different viewpoints on IFEM's challenges and opportunities
  • Governance rigour and specialist expertise
  • Fresh perspectives to tackle complex strategic challenges

The Role

Independent Directors serve IFEM's best interests, free from conflicts associated with member representation, while supporting the Board's fiduciary duties under Australian corporate law. You'll work alongside passionate clinical leaders, contributing to a truly global professional federation at a critical moment in its development.
