Emergency Medicine Association (ATD) was established and its Founding President Dr. It was John Fowler. The first general assembly of the Emergency Medicine Association was held on October 18, 1995 in İzmir.
The first scientific publication of TATD, the Journal of Emergency Medicine, began to be published in 2001. In the same year, the first International Emergency Medicine Congress in our country (1st MECEM) was held in Istanbul.
Thanks to the many national and international activities carried out by the Emergency Medicine Association, with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 23 May 2003 and numbered 2003/5660, it was deemed appropriate to put the phrase “TURKEY” in front of its name, and the name of the association was changed to Turkish Emergency Medicine Association .
