The Hong Kong College of Emergency Physicians Limited was incorporated under the Companies Ordinance on 13 February 1996. All the Consultant Emergency Physicians were invited to be subscribers to the new College. Dr Chin-Hung Chung became the Founding President of the College. The first Council Meeting of the College was held on 29 May 1996 at the conference room in Tang Shiu Kin hospital.”

On 13 November 1996, our President sent a letter to Dr David Fang, the new President of the Academy, informing him that our name had been changed and that we had obtained the signatures of more than 50 HKAM Fellows requesting and Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to admit the HKCEM as an Academy college. THE HKAM EGM was held at the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital on 16 January 1997, when our College was duly admitted as the 15th constituent college of the HKAM.
