Emergency medicine is a basic speciality since 2002 in Hungary. The training period is 60 months long. If the candidate already has a qualification from other speciality (i.e. internal medicine, intensive care, orthopaedic-trauma, paediatrics), the training period is 25 months.
HuSEM together with the four Hungarian medical schools (SE, SzOTE, POTE, DOTE) elaborated the guideline for the graduate and post-graduate education, according to the European Curriculum of Emergency Medicine.
