Purpose of the Events and CPD Group

The Continuing Professional Development and Events Group is responsible for high quality Continuing Professional Development output from IFEM’s Academy; and to ensure appropriate use of the IFEM logo from third party providers or member societies of their courses, conferences etc. to signify IFEM’s support of high-quality CPD.

It will also ensure that IFEM-provided educational events serve the needs of all its member organisations.

Function of the Events and CPD Group

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Events Group serves to:

  • ensure that gaps in needs of the emergency medicine community for freely available CPD are addressed by Content suitable for educators and content for low-resourced settings should take priority
  • present an annual plan for Virtual Learning Events (VLE’s) to the Academic Committee for input, ensuring that the rotation of topics is inclusive of the range of IFEM’s Committees, Groups, and Special Interest Groups.
  • oversee the topic selection, development of and smooth delivery of IFEM’s VLEs
  • monitor educational programs endorsed by IFEM to ensure that they meet the vision and standards set by IFEM and report back regularly to the Academic Committee
  • co-ordinate, review, and provide feedback on optimal virtual delivery platforms, when asked or needed.
  • provide leadership and advice to the IFEM Board on any matters related to CPD
  • develop and maintain policies and procedures that govern certification or endorsement for all educational programs and events endorsed by IFEM
