Dr. Julia Vaizer - USA

Dr. Julia Vaizer is an emergency medicine, EMS, and motorsports medicine physician at Indiana University, where she serves as Program Director for the Motorsports Medicine Fellowship. In 2022, she became the first female Medical Director to lead medical response for INDYCAR and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. She also serves as Deputy Medical Director for Indiana University Health LifeLine EMS and practices clinical emergency medicine at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Dr. Vaizer is dedicated to training the next generation of motorsports physicians and advancing pre-hospital care, disaster response, and safety standards across professional racing systems.

Dr. David Menzies - Ireland

Dr. David Menzies is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin, Associate Clinical Professor at University College Dublin, and Deputy Clinical Director with the National Ambulance Service of Ireland. He serves as Clinical Lead for the Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance Service (MICAS), a faculty member with ATACC, and previously led the Central Trauma Network in Ireland. For over a decade, David has served as Medical Director of the Motorcycling Ireland Medical Team, delivering medical leadership for national and international racing events. He is committed to advancing pre-hospital emergency care, critical care retrieval, trauma systems, and motorsport safety.

Dr. Melissa McCarthy - USA

Dr. Melissa McCarthy is an Emergency Medicine Physician at Indiana University and an independent safety engineering consultant whose work bridges medicine, automotive engineering, and motorsports safety. A West Point engineering graduate and former U.S. Army Captain, she completed her emergency medicine residency in Detroit before becoming the second physician selected for Indiana University’s Motorsports Medicine Fellowship. She serves as a track physician for the IndyCar Medical Team and the AMR Safety Team for NASCAR, performing accident investigations and implementing safety systems to protect drivers and tracks. Dr. McCarthy is passionate about leveraging her unique engineering and medical background to advance the specialty of motorsports medicine.

Dr. Amjad Obeid - Saudi Arabia

Dr. Amjad Obeid is a Consultant in Adult Emergency Medicine and Head of the Emergency Department at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, bringing over 25 years of experience in emergency, disaster, and motorsport medicine. Double board-certified in emergency medicine, he holds master’s degrees in Disaster Medicine and Business Administration, along with executive leadership certification from Harvard University. Dr. Obeid serves as Chief Medical Officer for the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix, an FIA Medical Delegate, and a member of the FIA Medical Commission. He is actively involved in postgraduate medical education, serving as regional faculty for the George Washington University Faculty Development Program and as a certified instructor for ATLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Dr. Cindy Bitter - USA

Dr. Cindy Bitter is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in the United States. She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) and focuses her academic and clinical work on the critical intersections between emergency care, public health, and trauma prevention. She is passionate about leveraging emergency medicine systems to drive population health initiatives, improve injury prevention protocols, and promote evidence-informed strategies to enhance patient outcomes in acute care environments.

Dr. Sean Petherbridge - UK

Dr. Sean Petherbridge is a British medical professional specialising in motorsport and aviation medicine, serving as President of the FIA Medical Commission and FIA Medical Affairs Manager. He oversees global motorsport medical regulations and policy, manages FIA Medical Delegates worldwide, and serves as Chief Medical Officer for the Emirates Motorsports Organisation (EMSO) across major events including the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. With a strong background in urgent care, emergency medicine, and pre-hospital care, he is currently Medical Director and Senior Aviation Medical Examiner at the UK’s leading Aeromedical Centre. Dr. Petherbridge is dedicated to advancing global motorsport safety, policy development, and medical governance.
