NEW! IFEM Director of Academic Activities
Professor Elizabeth Devos
Director of Academic Activities
I am introducing myself both as a new member of the IFEM Board but also because the position I hold is new.
The role of the new Executive Board position is to oversee IFEM’s academic activities including research and educational output and related activities. The Director of Academic Activities is also responsible for high quality annual ICEM conferences.
In my professional life, I am a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Assistant Chair for Faculty Development at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville. I have been active in the American College of Emergency Physicians as a past-chair of the ACEP Section on International Emergency Medicine and of the IFEM Specialty Implementation Committee. I previously worked as a faculty member in new residencies and provided content for model curricula and national EM guidelines and regional textbooks.
In this new role, I plan to co-ordinate communication with each of the committees and taskforces and act as a single point of contact for many of the new and exciting ideas to do with educational projects and the annual conference. This also involves coordinating with our energetic Special Interest Groups and communicating everyone’s output with members through newsletters, webinars, the IFEM website and conferences to assure that the work of IFEM is known by our member societies and by emergency physicians, wherever in the world they are. I am excited and honored to take on this new Board role, to serve you all.
