The IFEM Global Congress Organising Procedures

This document serves as a handbook to both current and future host societies.

It is organised into four distinct phases to mirror the lifecycle of the congress. All bidders and hosts must comply with the procedures and guidelines outlined in each section.

Sections two to five – background, brand identity and bidding. These sections provide guidance for societies interested in bidding to host the conference.

Sections six to fifteen – governance and planning. These sections define the roles and responsibilities of organising teams. It includes the structures that will be put in place to organise a successful congress and provides a master timeline of planning activities.

Sections sixteen to eighteen – the scientific programme. These sections provide the standards and expectations for scientific content, delivery, and the attendee experience. It includes the mandatory core clinical topics, gender and geographic diversity requirements for speakers.

Sections nineteen to twenty-two – financial arrangements and post-congress reporting. These sections outline the approach to faculty remuneration, the royalty structure for the congress, IFEM’s global sponsors, and the required post-congress report.
