Paediatric Emergency Medicine Special Interest Group
Members
Membership
Individual Membership
There is a growing recognition of PEM across jurisdictions, and the membership continues to grow. This includes general emergency physicians who have a focus on paediatric emergency care, and specialists in paediatric emergency medicine. We recognise that not all countries have specialist paediatric emergency training programs, and that several types of clinicians provide the equivalent emergency care of children depending on the emergency medicine frameworks within their own countries. We wish to respect that by ensuring a voice exists within our membership that advocates for all these varied models of care that result in the best emergency care for children.
With over 100 members from across the globe, the PEMSIG membership continues to grow. Given the multidisciplinary practice in the care of children, the terms of reference were recently updated to include trainees, nurse practitioners and physician assistants to the membership list.
The following countries have representatives in our group:
Africa: South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Ethiopia
North America: USA, Canada
Central and South America: Costa Rica, Argentina, Columbia
Europe and Gulf States: UK, Belgium, Sweden, Qatar, Lithuania
Asia: Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, South Korea, India, Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan
Oceania: Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea
We have representatives for most of these regions. If you wish to contact them, please email our secretary Dr Radhika Raman at [email protected] and she will ask our regional representative to contact you.
We are always looking for more members, especially if you are not in the countries listed above. If you are interested in joining our group, please click this link. The IFEM admin team will notify our secretary Dr Radhika Raman who will email you back when your membership is confirmed. You are requested to provide a copy of your curriculum vitae and to fill in the online application form. Membership will grant you access to our entertaining and informative PEMSIG newsletter.
