Mr Paul O’Connor

Paul contributes his governance, strategy, and legal acumen to the IFEM board.
With a decade of CEO experience with social insurers and funding emergency, acute and rehabilitation health systems, and research, Paul is passionate about early intervention and recovery and is a Certified Health Manager.
Paul has extensive governance practice and is currently the non-executive chair of two entities. His experience spans 20 governance roles in public, statutory, private, and not-for-profit entities.
Paul is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, and a national Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia. Until recently, he was a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University’s School of Regulation and Global Governance.
Paul is the founder of O’Connor Partners, a commercial advisory firm focused on helping clients solve for challenging governance, regulatory, risk and service delivery and innovation challenges. Paul’s extensive global expertise was forged in commercial roles in financial services based in Washington, DC, London, and Singapore.
Paul holds master’s degrees in law and corporate governance and is an Australian legal practitioner.
