Faith Joan M. Gaerlan is an emergency medicine consultant and vice-chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Southern Philippines Medical Centre where she is the training officer of the EM residency training. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of the Philippines, College of Medicine - Philippine General Hospital. She holds a Masters degree in Public Health and Environmental Health. She has served previously as safety and quality officer of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Manila Doctors Hospital but presently Committee Chair for Quality and Safety of the Department of Emergency Medicine, St. Luke's Medical Centre. As the Past President of the Philippine College of Emergency Medicine, she has facilitated international linkages with the Asian Society of Emergency Medicine and the Pan-Asian Resuscitation Outcomes Network. Presently, she is the program and advocacy committee chair of the Asian Association of Emergency Medical Services (AAEMS). She is also a member of the WHO-IFEM Task Team.
