The Danish Society for Emergency Medicine (DASEM) was established in 2006, before the plans for the future emergency departments were implemented. It was not until 2017 that Emergency Medicine became an independent medical specialty in Denmark.

DASEM has actively participated in the very extensive professional political work to establish the specialty and has drawn up the target description for the training for the future specialist doctors, so that the training can measure itself at international level.

Important topics such as the organization of the emergency hospital, safe patient flow, cooperation with other actors and the working environment in the emergency departments are other major efforts that DASEM continuously works on to raise the level in the emergency area.

The quality of the treatment must be ensured. The Danish Society for Emergency Medicine is a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience. We work actively to promote research, development and teaching within emergency medicine in Denmark.
