The purpose of the Finnish Association of Acute Medicine is to promote knowledge, skills and research related to acute medicine, as well as the development of all healthcare emergency services in Finland. 

In order to fulfill its purpose, the association organizes meetings and training sessions, participates in international acute medicine organization activities, conducts information and publishing activities related to its field, issues statements regarding the field and its practice, and uses other procedures comparable to the previous ones.
