Pakistan Society of Emergency was founded in February- 2017 at Islamabad, since than PSEM has been striving to improve  practice of Emergency Medicine in Pakistan. PSEM with the efforts of Dr. Abdus Salam Khan president PSEM and Dr. Khawaja Junaid Mustafa General Secretary PSEM has been in strive of making Emergency Medicine as a specialty in Pakistan. Dr. Junaid Mustafa, who is also the Dean of Faculty of College of Physician & Surgeon Pakistan CPSP.

Research, is another focused target of PSEM, for which PSEM has recently launched its official journal ‘South Asian Journal of Emergency Medicine’ SAJEM. SAJEM is the first journal on Emergency Medicine in Pakistan and South Asia. It has editors from different from different parts of the world including Australia. UK, USA, UAE, Srilanka and Bangladesh. More than 100 members from Medical Sciences are registered with SAJEM. More than 300 copies are distributed every quarter.

Pakistan Society of Emergency Medicine is with the target of getting the Emergency Medicine recognized as specialty like other medical specialties in the country.
