Simulation and Education Series

Session 3: Writing Simulation Scenarios and Assessment/Evaluation Criteria

Master the art of developing simulation scenarios aligned with objectives and assessment criteria for optimal learning outcomes.

Who should attend?

Consultants and specialists in emergency medicine with an interest in being simulation faculty who are looking to set up their own simulation centers or to improve existing simulation practices.

Learning objectives

  1. Understanding of how medical education theories utilize simulation as a means of teaching human factors.
  2. Understanding of the requirements for setting up a low/hi fidelity simulation center.
  3. Ability to write simulation scenarios with consideration for the objectives and assessment criteria.
  4. Ability to run simulation scenarios in low/hi fidelity centers.
  5. Understanding of various debriefing techniques and how to flexibly apply the correct one for each scenario.
